In an over-communicated world, Mynewsdesk was born out of the quest to find a faster, more effective way to exchange press releases, photos, videos and social media content – between companies, journalists and other interested users.
With journalistic and business backgrounds, the founders hit upon the idea of creating a company news exchange site. They envisioned an online content destination where users, whether searching for or creating content, could gain exposure to relevant information – on their own terms. Whether this exposure occurred on the company’s own site or other sites where they uploaded material, it would always be the source. A timely idea, the news exchange concept reflects an ongoing shift in the entire PR, media and communications industry – from push to pull.
Founded in 2003, Mynewsdesk remains a true pioneer in providing companies with a modern PR service to better connect with journalists and key opinion leaders. In just one click, communicators as well as journalists and bloggers can gain direct exposure to relevant press releases, photos and more – in the right media, at the right time, on their own terms.
All news releases and other PR materials are stored in an online social media newsroom. The information are optimized for top search-engine rankings on Google and other major search engines. It’s then instantly synched and uploaded to social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Wordpress – a time-saver, since you can publish all your material in the same place. At the same time, the press material is distributed to journalists and other influencers who have requested to receive updates in their topics of interest.
In 2008, Mynewsdesk was purchased by Norwegian media group NHST, which owns several of Norway’s leading business publications, including Dagens Næringsliv and DN.no.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Mynewsdesk now has offices in all Nordic countries – Norway, Denmark and Finland. The company is also growing rapidly and expanding its international operations. To better meet the needs of PR communicators worldwide, the company just opened an office in Singapore and plans to launch offices in London and the US during 2011. It currently hosts content from more than 23, 000 registered companies and has maintained a 97% satisfaction rate for several years.
