Meraas reveals blueprint for $2.7bn Dubai Parks & Resorts project

ARABIAN BUSINESS: Dubai-based developer Meraas Holding on Sunday unveiled the blueprint for its Dubai Parks & Resorts project that is set to take shape in Jebel Ali from 2016. The first phase of the project will comprise three theme parks – Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, and LEGOLAND Dubai, Meraas announced in a statement. The development will also feature Riverpark – a grand entrance plaza – and Lapita, a family themed hotel. The first phase is scheduled for completion in 2016 with ground work starting in February. The project, which aims to help Dubai reach its target of attracting 20 million tourists by 2020 and was first announced in 2012, will cost AED10 billion to build.
