Today it´s four weeks until the announcement of the laureate or laureates of the world’s largest award for children’s and young adult literature. The 2016 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) Laureate will be announced at the National Library of Sweden on April 5 at 1:00 pm CET by Jury Chairman Boel Westin in connection with the jury’s final meeting.

Today the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award publish a teacher’s guide to Barbro Lindgren’s books Jättehemligt (Super Secret, 1971), Världshemligt (Top Secret, 1972) and Bladen brinner (Pages on Fire, 1973). The teacher’s guide is written by researcher and jury member Maria Lassén-Seger.

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award will participate in the international IBBY Congress in Mexico City September 10-13. The Congress gathers more than 130 speakers from 50 different countries; including David Almond, Daniel Goldin, Monika Zak, María Teresa Andruetto, Agustín Fernández Paz and Alicia Molina.

Isol’s public conversation with Mats Kempe will be broadcast live on Kunskapskanalen, Thursday September 26 at 1:00-1:45 pm. Isol will also be interviewed by journalist Gunilla Brodrej, Expressen, in a podcast broadcast live at 3:40 to 4:20 pm.

Tonight the world’s largest award for children’s and young adult literature will be presented to the Argentinian illustrator Isol in Stockholm, Sweden. The 2013 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award will be presented by H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria and the Swedish Minister for Culture, Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth.
