For the second year running, Arla Foods is one of the main sponsors of the chef’s award, the Dish of the Year.
Over the past year, Denmark’s food critics have been nominating a range of entrées, main courses and puddings for the Dish of the Year award.
A total of 17 dishes reached the final which was held on Wednesday at the Copenhagen Restaurant, Meyers Madhus, where some of Denmark’s leading chefs prepared dishes which were subsequently judged on taste, concept and presentation by a judging panel comprising food writers, chefs and “foodies”.
The Dish of the Year award, which was established three years ago, is organised in partnership with The Danish Gastronomy Academy, Meyers Madhus and sponsors from the food sector.
»The Dish of the Year” award is an important event in the Danish food scene and we share the interest both in food quality and good food with the finalists in the competition,” says Category Manager Henrik Diekema, Arla Foodservice. “We’ve supported the “Chef of the Year” competition in Sweden for twenty years and in recent years, we’ve begun to collaborate with several of the trendsetting chefs in Denmark.”
The prize for ”The Dish of the Year” award was presented by Denmark’s Minister for Food Mariann Fischer Boel on Wednesday afternoon.
