Press Release   •  Oct 15, 2001 20:00 CEST

Danish Food Minister, Ritt Bjerregaard, was served a cup of cappuccino by the world’s best coffee bartender, the Dane Martin Hildebrandt, at Arla Foods’ stand at the Anuga fair today, Monday.

“The minister didn’t ask for any particular type – all she wanted was a cup of coffee with milk,” said Martin Hildebrandt. “So I made her a cappuccino.”

Voted the World’s Best Coffee Bartender at the annual world championships for “baristas” in the spring, Martin Hildebrandt makes his living as chief bartender at Copenhagen’s renowned coffeehouse, Cafe Europe. However, for the duration of Anuga, he’s in charge of the coffee bar at the Arla Foods’ stand where he serves a range of coffee drinks with high milk content.

During her visit Minister – and former EU Commissioner – Ritt Bjerregaard was shown around Arla Foods’ stand by Group Director Ole Willeman. He presented Arla Foods’ Innovation’s concept for a “fat-burner,” a dairy product which makes the consumer slimmer the more he/she eats.
