Production discontinued at Halmstad

Last Monday saw the last cartons of creme fraiche leaving Arla Foods’ fresh milk dairy in Halmstad on Sweden’s West coast.
Production of creme fraiche has been transferred to Őstg÷ta Dairy while the dairy’s production of yoghurt, milk and cream has been gradually transferred to Gothenburg Dairy over the past twelve months.
Currently a fresh products terminal, Halmstad will be converted into a distribution terminal next autumn. Around half of the 80 employees will remain at the plant.
The transfer of fresh milk production from Halmstad is part of Arla Foods’ structural plan.
