While Jens Bigum expressed his satisfaction with the dairy business, his assessment of the subsidiaries was more mixed. He was satisfied with the Swedish juice business, JO-bolaget, which achieved a turnover of DKK 748 million. The result for Rynkeby Foods of DKK 8 million on a turnover of almost DKK 800 million was, however, unsatisfactory.

The result for the Danapak group was also unsatisfactory – a loss of DKK 98 million.
The result of primary operations showed a minus of DKK 87 million which nevertheless represents an improvement of DKK 23 million on the previous year. This is the result of the ongoing turnaround process.

Operations were affected by the unprofitable FPO production (under disposal) and by strongly increasing raw material prices.
Arla Foods’ UK subsidiary, Arla Foods Plc, posted a profit of DKK 75 million. Turnover totalled DKK 5.5 billion – DKK 4.0 billion from production in the UK and DKK 1.5 billion from imports from Denmark.
