Sweden’s Minister for Agriculture, Margareta Winberg.
200 guests joined the festivities when Sweden’s Minister for Agriculture, Margareta Winberg, opened Arla Foods' new cheese and butter terminal, Alexander, in Götene on Wednesday.
In a move reminiscent of the legendary Macedonian King, Alexander the Great, Margareta Winberg used a sword rather than a pair of scissors to cut the ribbon during the inauguration ceremony for the new terminal which is named after the king. The name symbolises the fact that, by replacing five older terminals, the new terminal meets a range of requirements – at one go.
In his speech Arla Foods' Chairman Lars Lamberg expressed his satisfaction with the timing of the inauguration which took place two years after the merger between the Swedish Arla and the Danish MD Foods.
"Alexander fits excellently into Arla Foods' mission of offering modern consumers milk-based food products that create inspiration, confidence and well-being. The investment also matches the structure of the new Arla Foods", said Lars Lamberg.
