The subsidiaries

Press Release   •   Dec 12, 2001 15:30 CET

“A particularly good year for the subsidiaries as a whole,” said Arla Foods’ Managing Director, Jens Bigum, of the result for the group’s subsidiaries.

A small profit in the Danapak group following the disposal of the company’s plastic cartons division was “a step in the right direction” – “albeit not in itself satisfactory.”
A year-on-year rise in turnover of 8% in Danske Mejeries Fællesindkøb resulted in a turnover of DKK 599 million.

Also, Rynkeby Foods posted an improved result, in part due to relatively low world market prices of concentrates.

Activities in Semper have undergone certain changes, including the transfer of the company’s ingredients activities to Arla Foods Ingredients. As this led to a reduction of more than 50% of the company’s turnover, the company’s figures are not comparable to last year. Despite the changes Semper’s result is satisfactory.

Frödinge Dairy, Medipharm and AM Foods have, in general, enjoyed a strong year with results above expectations.
