Following an expansion programme which has given Troldhede Dairy an extra 3,850 sq. m. floor space, the dairy will now embark on a two month running-in period. Troldhede will then start production of 1,500 tons camembert in cans transferred from Høng Dairy. Høng suffered a serious fire on New Year’s Eve last year and will close on April 1 this year.
Troldhede Dairy’s extension includes a new packing department, mould room, boiler room, workshop and various staff facilities. Dairy Manager Henning Jacobsen believes that the extension will require 30-35 extra staff although a precise figure cannot be given as new machinery will be installed.
