Whenever milk, knowledge and ideas combine to make an Arla Foods product, scientific research and product development have top priority.
A total of 200 highly qualified staff work at “Innovation.” These include dairy, food and chemical engineers as well as microbiologists, chemists, laboratory technicians and business graduates.
The staff are based at three centres: at Brabrand in Århus, at Nr. Vium in West Jutland and in Stockholm in Sweden. In addition, a number of staff work at various research units near the large dairies for which they work.
Innovation also undertakes research in conjunction with universities in most European countries as well with as many of its ingredients suppliers. Arla Foods launches around 150 new products each year.
