The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday asked for the public's assistance with two burglaries totaling more than $4,000 in losses, said Sheriff Greg Riat.

Deputies responded Saturday to a cabin north of Emmett, near English Ridge Road and Page Road. Riat said the cabin had been burglarized, windows were broken and a fire extinguisher was discharged within the structure. Numerous items were destroyed. Stolen were goose decoys, DVD's, a Minkota trolling motor, a game fisher tackle box and fishing poles.

Riat said there were at least two burglars, one of whom dropped a green ski/winter face mask, and a dog.

The estimated loss was $3,530.

The second burglary was to a residence at 3620 Stewart Farm Road in St. George, which was broken into between Jan. 22-23.

Riat said items stolen were a Bostich Finish nailer in a black case, a Rigid Finish Stapler in a lack case, a Dewalt Speed Drill, a Rigid Cordless 18V drill/screw gun in a case, a Rigid 18V Battery and Duel Charger, and a cordless Black and Decker Jig saw.

The items were valued at $784.

A reward has been offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the people or persons responsible for either of the two crimes, Riat said.

Anyone with information regarding the crimes can anonymously call the sheriff's office at (785) 457-3353.
