  • Provide plum assignments: Give strong performers the option of working on desirable projects. Doing so improves their motivation and enthusiasm for their work, and encourages others to excel in their positions.

The most important thing you can do to reward an employee for good performance is the simplest of all. Tell the employee that they have did a great job. A pat on the back and a hand shake can make one feel that they are needed and lets them know you have noticed what they have been doing. Watch as a smile flashes across their face.
