As swift as an arrow.

In total 9 universities of the whole country participated. The annual concrete boat race, in which USA wide engineering faculties compete, has become a cult for many years. To solve the mystery a little the team of Virginia Tech used a Poraver® special blend of the grain sizes 0.1-0.5 mm and 0.5-1.0 mm and was thus able to significantly reduce the weight of the boat and to increase the lift. Summing up project manager Dr. Scardina said: „The expanded glass granules made our canoe 40 pounds lighter overall, directly contributing to our success at the competition this year. The competition judges were impressed with the final product and congratulated the team on having one of the best mix designs.”
