New Open Door application in the eastern part of the North Sea

The 2nd January 2014 the Danish Energy Agency received an application for exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the eastern part of the North Sea.

ESP Oil & Gas Ltd. has 2 January 2014 applied for a license for exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the Open Door area. The application concerns to an area in the eastern part of the North Sea (see map in PDF). The application is now being processed by the DEA. The procedure for the Open Door allows oil companies - within the annual period from 2 January to 30 September - to continuously apply for licenses to explore for and produce oil and gas. The scheme covers all unlicensed areas east of 6 ° 15 'eastern longitude, ie. entire onshore and offshore area except the western part of the North Sea, confer map.
