abakus solar AG applied for preliminary insolvency

abakus solar AG of Gelsenkirchen, Germany, an internationally operating system house for photovoltaics, has applied for the initiation of a preliminary insolvency proceeding at the local court of Essen, Germany on April 07, 2016. Dr. Christoph Niering has been appointed as preliminary insolvency administrator. Due to its close financial relationship with its parent company abakus solar Service GmbH, the subsidiary of abakus solar AG responsible for providing Operation & Maintenance services, has also applied for the initiation of a preliminary insolvency proceeding at the local court of Essen, Germany and Dr. Niering has been appointed as preliminary insolvency administrator.

The Board of Directors of abakus solar AG is optimistic that both, the engineering and the operation & maintenance business of the company can be continued after a swift restructuring. The salaries of the employees are secured.

The UK-based subsidiary abakus solar Manchester Ltd. continues trading and all photovoltaic power plants presently serviced in the UK continue to be serviced.
