Sunday 1st of January 2017 at 15.59 hours local time Danish Police of Northern Jutland received the information from a Korean journalist that a woman wanted by the police for extensive financial economic crime in South Korea was staying at a certain address in the south-eastern part of Aalborg, Denmark.
This woman is alleged to be identical with Ms. Yoora Chung.
Interpol has confirmed that an international search request concerning this woman had been received from the South Korean authorities on 27 December 2016.
On this basis, the Police force of Northern Jutland arrested the woman at 19.54 hours local time at the address. A part from the arrest, no further steps towards investigation were made.
There were 3 other adults and a child at the address. None of these were wanted by the police.
The woman informed spontaneously that she was Yoora Chung and that she was aware that the South Korean authorities wanted her for questioning. In addition, she told that her mother had been arrested in the same case. She was in Denmark for horse racing.

The woman is expected to be brought before the court in remand hearing at the Court of Aalborg at 14.00 hours local time, with a request for detention until such time that the issue of extradition can be addressed. There is no charge against the woman from Danish Police.
At this moment the local police is by Danish Law unable to give any further information.
