A$AP Rocky will play NorthSide

The American rapper is joined by Oh Land, Temples, RY X, and The Minds of 99 at the Danish festival

The last round of announcements prior to the presentation of the final poster for NorthSide 2014 contains a long desired dose of world class hip hop.

A$AP Rocky
It has been a longstanding ambition to get a great hip hop act on the poster for NorthSide, and with the addition of A$AP Rocky we have succeeded. The 25-year-old New Yorker released a mixtape in 2011, which was universally acclaimed and paved the way for a record deal and massive media coverage. The long-awaited debut album, "Long.Live.A$AP", was released in the autumn of last year and went straight to number one in his home country, where tracks like "Fuckin' Problems" and "Wild for the Night" pushed A$AP’s status as one of the most interesting new rappers right now.

Here in Denmark, tickets for his latest show sold out in minutes, and we can’t wait to see the head of the A$AP Mob onstage at NorthSide.

Oh Land
Nanna Øland has through three releases left her mark on the Danish music scene using sophisticated and intelligent pop that simultaneously manages to be both fun and full of life. Most recently, that was obvious on the album "Wish Bone", which included the hit "Renaissance Girls". The singer added a lot of colour to NorthSide in 2012 with a wonderful show, so we look forward to receiving another visit from Oh Land.

Oh Land will play NorthSide Friday 13th of June.

Temples
Noel Gallagher has called them the best British band right now and listening to the excellent debut album, "Sun Structures", it is hard to disagree. Temples mixes psychedelic rock with elegant melodies that bring back memories of both The Beatles and Roky Erickson. So there is every reason to have high expectations for this summer and the band's first Danish concert.

Temples will play NorthSide Friday 13th of June.

RY X
Australian Ry Cuming was discovered in Costa Rica, he now lives in Los Angeles, and last year he released the EP "Berlin" on a Swedish label. He has previously released music under his given name, but in 2012 he reinvented himself as RY X, which has had a huge impetus in his career. He has been compared to both Bon Iver and Ben Howard, and we are very excited to be able to present this fascinating new act for the audience at NorthSide.

RY X will play NorthSide Friday 13th of June.

The Minds of 99
Last year, the six friends in The Minds of 99 won national radio’s contest, KarriereKanonen, and since then their careers have taken off with rocket speed. They are still working on their debut album, but the first step toward success has already been taken with the single "Det er Knud som er død", which is P3's Unavoidable Track this week. KarriereKanonen showed that The Minds of 99 is a terrific live act, and thus they are a great addition to this year's program.

The Minds of 99 will play NorthSide Saturday 14^th of June.
