GolfNorth is a unique organization in Canada that brings together a portfolio of some of the best public courses in Canada. The aim of GolfNorth is to provide the most excellent golfing experience available to the general public, as well as to increase the knowledge of the sport in Canada. The large amount of courses, 24 to be exact, that GolfNorth maintains is second to none throughout Ontario and in the country at large.

There have been some exciting changes to the family of courses within the last few years, and indeed the legacy of the course family is expanding into the future. Recently, GolfNorth announced that it had acquired highly attractive and valuable courses that would only add to the achievement of its aims of education and enjoyment of golf for the general public. The two courses that the company plans to add in 2014 are spectacularly designed, offering both beginners and advanced golfers pleasure and a new challenge.

As of February 1, 2014, GolfNorth will take ownership of the Northern Dunes Golf Club. This club is located in Hepworth, Ontario and is situated near the Southern entrance of the beautiful Bruce Peninsula. The Northern Dunes course is accessed via a scenic ride of ten minutes from the Sauble Beach on gorgeous Lake Huron, as well as being near the City of Owen Sound on the shores of Georgian Bay. With these attractive surroundings, the course will no doubt draw a crowd. The course officially opened in 2000 and is an 18-hole championship course designed by Steve Young.

Also starting on February 1st, 2014, the GolfNorth family will welcome the Rebel Creek Golf Club to its portfolio. This golf course is located in Petersburg, Ontario, which is less than ten minutes from the Foxwood and Dundee Golf clubs, making this a perfect area to head to for a long weekend filled with tee times. With the rolling hills of Petersburg as its setting, this championship 18-hole course is sure to please novice and expert golfers alike. With 160 acres to its credit as well as undulating meadows and wetlands, the property also boasts a 400 yard double-ended practice facility for the use of its patrons.
