ENGLISH

Electronic Cumbia, Anatolian Folk and Twangy Psychedelic Rock

About Bass-filled electronic cumbia grooves, bağlama riffs and surf guitar are merged into a multicultural melting pot of South American rhythms, Anatolian folk music and 60's psychedelic rock. Ipek Yolu has created a unique genre-hybrid and a soundscape that bridges humid tropical forests and dusty deserts in a kaleidoscopic mix of music from all corners of the globe.
Ipek Yolu is led by the award-winning multi-instrumentalist and bağlama player Orhan Özgür Turan, also known from the Anatolian folk/rock band Hudna among many other projects. Lasse Aagaard & Olaf Johannes Brinch complete the trio, and have a long musical history making high energy cumbia and tropical bass with Junglelyd. Olaf is also an essential part of the Danish afrobeat orchestra AddisAbabaBand. For their Roskilde Festival performance, they have invited duduk player Serkan Yildirim to join them on stage. Good energy, passion for music and open-hearted approach to people always help me in my work with booking, management, tour production, and promotion support. I love working with music bands within roots & hybrid, especially Anatolian funk, Nordic roots & hybrid, Bosnian Sevdah, and Indie Folk.
