Finding English Lawyers in Denmark

There are a variety of sources available if you need to find legal help for a problem that has arisen outside of England and Wales, or for a matter within the Kingdom of Denmark that has a foreign dimension involving the United Kingdom.

You can always approach the British High Commission in your country for assistance. To get started, search for embassy locations and details at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website. The British Embassy in Copenhagen assists on a wide range of political, commercial, security and economic questions of interest to the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Denmark. Around 330,000 British nationals travel to Denmark each year and approximately 13,000 British nationals live and work here. Conversely, it is estimated that up to 50,000 Danish nationals live and work in the United Kingdom. 

To assist both British and Danish citizens who require English legal advice in Denmark, the British Embassy/High Commission Copenhagen has prepared the following list of English speaking lawyers in Denmark. Generally, the majority of Danish lawyers will be fluent in English. In addition to the number of English-speaking lawyers in Denmark, there is a small number of practising English solicitors in Copenhagen and an even smaller number of dual-qualified lawyers. A number of English qualified lawyers in Denmark and vice versa, can be found both here and here courtesy of the Law Society in each country. One such lawfirm is Carsted Rosenberg LLP. It is one of a small number of lawfirms that can advise its clients on the aspects of both Danish and English law .
