Pressemeddelelse -

Bon Iver, Major Lazer, and The Streets will play NorthSide 2019

The three international headliners are joined by The Minds of 99, Lydmor, and Cautious Clay

The whistle has blown for the 10th season of NorthSide, and the first announcement of acts for the festival features one of the most requested acts for NorthSide ever combined with a crazy and confetti-loving trio and also a return for one of the earliest headliners of the festival.

When Bon Iver released the album "22, A Million" in 2016, he took a big step away from the sensitive and beautiful ballads from the previous two releases. But the hip-hop and electronically-inspired result is a challenging masterpiece that was met with overwhelming praise and even comparisons with "Kid A" all over the world. For his shows, Bon Iver smoothly combines the new material with beloved classics like "For Emma" and "Holocene" in a unique concert experience, which was celebrated with five hearts by Politiken, when the American played the 2017 edition of Haven Festival.

Since the beginning of NorthSide, Bon Iver has been one of the most requested acts by both the audience and the organizers, and we are very proud that we have finally managed to get the outstanding songwriter on the line-up.

Bon Iver will play Saturday June 8th at NorthSide 2019

Major Lazer has been responsible for some of the biggest hits of recent years like "Lean On (feat. MØ & DJ Snake)", which has secured platinum records and topped charts all over the world. With more than 1.1 billion plays on Spotify and twice as many on Youtube, the song is one of the biggest hits of the decade. "Cold Water (Feat. MØ & Justin Bieber)", "Watch Out for This (Bumaye)", "Bubble Butt", "Get Free", and "Light It Up" have also rocked dancefloors every weekend at clubs in recent years , and as one has been able to experience at several major Danish shows, the trio always delivers the goods.

In 2018, Diplo performed one of the most impressive shows in the history of NorthSide, and we are convinced that his returns in 2019 will be nothing short of spectacular, when he is joined by his colleagues in Major Lazer.

Major Lazer will play Friday June 7th at NorthSide 2019

When NorthSide moved into Ådalen in 2011, one of the festival's headliners was The Streets. The rapper was at that time on his farewell tour and delivered a fantastic show that featured the best tracks from his excellent catalogue. As soon as Mike Skinner announced a comeback for The Streets in 2017, the comments began to appear on social media from guests, who wanted a repeat performance from the man who wrote "Dry Your Eyes", "Has It Come to This?", and "When You Wasn’t Famous". Since then, new music has appeared from The Streets, and we are now looking forward to having one of England's best rappers return to NorthSide.

The Streets will play Thursday June 6th at NorthSide 2019

In addition to the three international headliners, Danish rockers The Minds of 99 are also added to the line-up by popular demand of the NorthSide guests. Since their last visit to the festival, the band has found success with "Ung kniv", "Alle skuffer over tid" and "K før ærlighed" and won prizes for the ep "Solkongen del 1". Throughout the years, they have been one of the most popular acts at the festival securing them a spot on next year’s poster.

Additionally, Lydmor and Cautious Clay are added to the program. Jenny Rossander aka Lydmor made this month's cover of GAFFA Magazine and has just released the awesome album "I Told You I'd Tell Them Our Story". She is currently playing shows with a visually impressive production that will certainly work well at NorthSide 2019, where you will also be able to experience American singer Cautious Clay. In addition to two popular ep releases ("Blood Type" and "Resonance"), the sensitive vocalist has also become popular through collaborations with AlunaGeorge ("Superior Emotion" from the “A Star is Born” soundtrack), Lil Silva ("Always Wonder"), and Petit Biscuit ("Wake Up"). The airy and jazz-inspired tracks have generated proper hype, all indicating that it's a future star, who this summer will play his first concert at NorthSide.

The Minds of 99 will play Saturday June 8th, Lydmor will play Friday June 7th, and Cautious Clay will play Thursday June 6th at NorthSide 2019.

- With this start like this, we are very well underway in the process of putting together the NorthSide line-up. These are six very different acts, and several of them have been high on the wish lists of our guests in recent years. However, there is a long way and more than 35 additional acts to be announced before we can reveal the final poster. But the way things are going we feel confident that next year’s poster will be able to compete with the very best we’ve ever put together, says spokesman for NorthSide, John Fogde.

NorthSide afholdes i Eskelunden, Aarhus
