Piloter støtter brysterne og flyver pink i oktober
Piloterne i Spies’ eget flyselskab, Thomas Cook Airlines, skifter i hele oktober ”guldstriberne” på deres uniformskuldre ud med pink epauletter. Piloternes FlyPink-kampagne skal være med til at skabe opmærksomhed omkring den storstillede Støt Brysterne-kampagne, der i den kommende måned skal øge bevidstheden om brystkræft og skaffe penge til forskning i sygdommen.
Ideen bag FlyPink-kampagnen blev for nogle år siden lanceret af piloter i australske Quantas og Cathay Pacific. Danske Thomas Cook Airlines med ca. 230 piloter er det første selskab i Europa, der bakker op om kampagnen. Det sker sammen med søsterselskaberne Condor i Tyskland og Thomas Cook Airlines i England og Belgien, der tæller andre ca. 1.000 piloter.
- Danske Thomas Cook Airlines har ca. 1.100 ansatte. Da hver niende kvinde i Danmark rammes af brystkræft, er det naturligvis også en sygdom, som vi har tæt inde på livet i vores virksomhed, siger kommunikationschef i Thomas Cook Airlines.
De pink skulderstriber køber piloterne selv til en overpris. Overskuddet herfra doneres til Støt Brysterne-kampagnen.

Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia is the largest charter airline company in The Nordic countries.
