Countdown in the call for IPLyC licensees

The call for gambling operators to access online gambling licenses of the Provincial Lottery and Casinos Institute of Buenos Aires was opened on May 13 and ends on June 25. After the approval of Law no. 15,079 that regulates the development of online gambling, the process of convening, selecting and subsequently granting licenses was started by an Evaluation Technical Commission appointed by the Institute, consisting of: Sabrina Wolff, Sabrina Minin and Nicolás Bulygin. Among its stated objectives are:

Guarantee the protection of public order
Eradicate illegal gambling
Safeguard the rights of the participants of the games
Promote the dissemination of good gaming practices
Ensure that advertising, sponsorship and promotion is not directed to minors, that minors do not participate in advertising and that it is not abusive, deceptive or disloyal.

The limit is set at a maximum of 7 licenses for the total number of applicants to licensees: they must meet the requirements, and they will receive a score that will be decisive in the final list of selected candidates. The Qualifying Titles will be delivered for a term of 15 years that can not be extended, to:

Gaming machines
Casino games
Betting on virtual games (not lottery)
Horse Betting
Betting on real sporting and non-sporting events (non-political)

The Right of Participation has been set at 5 and a half million pesos, and after the granting, a Single Fixed Charge of 65 million pesos is required for the License to be activated. In addition to the process fees, there is a 25% tax on the gross income obtained with the activity.

Companies like William Hill and Poker Stars are already present in the province. Others such as Codere, Luckia, Betway and Bet365 have partnered with local companies, or in the case of Paytech and 888 Holdings, to face-to-face casinos in Buenos Aires.
