Falck joins UN campaign against corruption

Today it is UN’s international anti-corruption day. Falck has released its own anti-corruption statement in support of the initiative and to take a stand against corruption.

The United Nations has named December 9th International Anti-Corruption Day. Governments, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, the media and citizens around the world are joining forces to fight this crime. Falck has released its own anti-corruption statement in support of the initiative and to take a stand against corruption. The nature of Falck’s activities – assisting and caring for people in need – means that the global operator plays an important role in the communities where the Falck people operate.

“Communities rely on us to be a trusted business partner and therefore Falck has taken a zero-tolerance approach towards any form of direct or indirect, passive or active bribery. Corruption harms society and results in increasing costs, disregard of laws, unfair competition and erosion of trust in government,” says Jakob Riis, CEO of Falck.

Fundamental fight
Corrupt activities call into question the integrity of all parties involved and Falck therefore requires all employees, agents and any other business partners to help fight corruption by complying with the Bribery and Corruption Policy and speaking up where they know or suspect misconduct has taken place.

“Falck considers the fight against corruption fundamental as we will not play a part in perpetuating the inequalities caused by corruption. Through our global activities we assist communities, and we will not participate in any corrupt activities that may potentially damage these communities,” says Jakob Riis.

Code of Conduct
Falck’s Code of Conduct sets minimum standards for how the employees conduct business with integrity. These standards guide everyone at Falck to build and maintain an ethical culture where helping in the fight against corruption becomes second nature.

Jakob Riis also stresses, that Falck has a whistleblower system, Falck Alert, which provides a platform and encourages employees to use it to raise concerns about irregularities or improper actions that have been committed.

“With this Anti-Corruption statement, we connect our underlying anti-corruption policy, code of conduct and available whistleblower system supporting this important campaign and purpose,” says Jakob Riis.
