Eaton Exhibits Technologies to Help Marine Operators Secure Power for Critical Applications in Harsh Environments at NaviGate 2016

Eaton will showcase how its latest technologies enable marine customers to improve the reliability, safety and efficiency of their onshore and offshore operations at NaviGate 2016, 18-19 May, in Turku, Finland. On stand C/57, experts from the power management company will demonstrate how its latest Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the marine segment, the 9PHD, can help customers protect their mission critical applications in the harshest environments in order to guarantee business continuity.

“Access to reliable back-up power is crucial for safe and successful operation, especially in demanding and remote offshore environments,” Oscar Rivella, Segment Manager Marine and Offshore, Eaton, says. “The 9PHD UPS combines 97 percent efficiency in double conversion mode – boosted to up to 99 percent when operating in Eaton Energy Saver System (ESS) mode – with the lowest Total Cost of Ownership, providing marine customers an optimal way to future-proof their operations without compromising performance.”

Visitors to the Eaton stand C/57 can view the 9PHD UPS, which is available in a power range from 40kVA to 200kVA and comes in two frame sizes depending on the required power and transformer configuration. Built in response to the constantly tightening maritime regulations, the UPS is available with any marine classification certificate.

In addition to the 9PHD, Eaton will also show how it can help maritime companies develop long-term strategies for their operations by drawing on its range of dedicated marine solutions. These have been designed to help customers maintain all the essential services aboard and help ship yard owners and port authorities meet new and existing challenges, such as increasing port congestion, crane density and 24/7 harbour operations. Products displayed will include marine HMI-PLCs and UPSs, MV and LV power distribution technologies, hazardous area communications and innovative LED / Ex-lighting solutions.
