Philips on yksi maailman johtavista innovatiivisista yhtiöistä

Royal Philips has jumped 20 places to rank 29th in the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) annual list of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world.

Philips, which has the goal of improving the lives of 3 billion people a year by 2025, is a company driven by innovation. This has been recognized by the ranking, for which the Boston Consulting Group surveyed thousands of senior-level executives to understand more about innovation trends and to identify the most innovative companies in the world.

Philips brings together word-class R&D and design expertise to address many of the longer-term challenges our world faces – a growing need for healthcare, increased focus on personal well-being and rising demand for energy-efficient solutions for example – to create innovative solutions that meet peoples’ needs.

“For more than 120 years, we have been improving people’s lives with a steady flow of ground-breaking innovations and this shows that our pace in this vital area is increasing. The BCG is a rigorous ranking and I am proud to see our improved performance – it’s a real team effort from the thousands of people at Philips helping to make innovation happen,” said Jim Andrew, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, Philips.

In September, Philips showcased its commitment to creating a more sustainable future with a host of innovative products and services at the Philips Innovation Event.

This year the company is also celebrating 100 years of Philips Research; one of the world’s largest corporate research organizations, which has generated 165,000 granted patents.
