23 students from Finland graduated from Estonian University of Life Sciences

The summer graduation ceremony of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences of the Estonian University of Life Sciences took place on June in Tartu, where another 23 veterinary medicine students from Finland received their Degree in Veterinary Medicine.

Many of today’s Finnish veterinary doctors have received their training in Estonia, with first veterinary students from Finland graduating from the Estonian University of Life Sciences in 1997. Pauliina Pietilä, one of graduates, says that she is grateful for the education she received, because it allows her to do her dream job. „When I go back to Finland, I intend to start working as commune veterinary doctor, specialising in dairy cows,“ she said.

This year’s admission period for international studies at the Estonian Univeristy of Life Sciences ended on June 15. The English-language programme in Veterinary Medicine received 70 applications, of which 62 from Finnish candidates. Other countries represented in the applicants’ list were New Zealand, USA, Romania, Germany, UK, Latvia, Russia and Ghana.
