Paris/Oslo, Monday, 13 January 2020: Today, Nathalie Watine, Bouygues Immobilier's Executive Director for Digital Transformation and Håvard Haukeland, co-founder and CEO of Spacemaker, signed a partnership agreement.

By partnering with Bouygues Immobilier, one of Europe’s leading real-estate developers, Spacemaker, is launching its revolutionary artificial intelligence-based technology in the French market. This marks the first French partnership in Spacemaker’s frontier programme – a programme designed for new market entry, where select property developers are given first mover access to the AI platform.

Spacemaker empowers development teams to maximize the potential of a building site through rapid generation, analysis and evaluation of the optimal design based on physical data, regulations and preferences. The platform uses AI to dramatically improve decision support as well as collaboration in real estate development.

The application of AI in construction has a number of advantages that can lead to more sustainable approaches in the planning of our cities and communities: We can identify substantial improvement potentials for building sites and maximise the living qualities of residential developments (e.g. daylight, sunlight, views, quality of outdoor spaces, noise), while at the same time introducing much needed optimisations and efficiencies to the construction process itself.

In light of its digital transformation policy, in 2020 Bouygues Immobilier will begin using Spacemaker's technology in six of its major projects, including the Charenton-Bercy district.

"Spacemaker is on a mission to help build better and more sustainable cities with AI. After the successful launch of our platform in the Nordics, we are now proud to be working with one of France's leading and most forward-thinking property developers," explained Håvard HAUKELAND, Spacemaker’s co-founder and CEO

"I’m delighted about the partnership with Spacemaker, which is a perfect example for Bouygues’ innovation and digitalisation strategy” says Pascal MINAULT, President of Bouygues Immobilier.
