KEB Jacket - Fjällräven Launches the Keb jacket, technical jacket for demanding outdoor life.

After the success of Keb Trousers, Fjällräven is now launching a jacket in the same series. Keb Jacket is a durable and pliant jacket with excellent ventilation and wind resistance. The fixed hood with foldable brim protects against stormy weather. This makes KEB JACKET ideal for demanding trips such as up to the top of Sweden’s highest mountain – Mt. Kebnekaise – or even higher.

KEB JACKET is a technical outdoor jacket designed for long excursions into the mountains when freedom of movement is as important as durability and protection from the elements and difficult terrain. Carefully designed details give an excellent fit, such as gussets under the arms that allow the jacket to stay in place without exposing the waist when lifting the arms. The lack of seams on the shoulders and side seams that have been moved forward decrease the risk of rubbing from a backpack's hip-belt or a climbing harness when on advanced alpine adventures.

KEB JACKET combines wind and water resistant G-1000 Eco on the hood, shoulders, front and lower back with comfortable stretch fabric on the back, arms and pockets. Both fabrics dry fast and ventilate out moisture. During intense activity, excess body heat can be released by opening the zippered ventilation openings on the sides to further reduce the risk of getting cold due to damp under-garments.

The storm hood can be adjusted to fit the head perfectly. The brim has brass wire sewn into it and its special construction means it can be folded in two positions to either give maximum wind protection or to prioritise peripheral vision. Practical storage can be found in the vertical breast pockets which each have an inner mesh pocket, plus an arm pocket suitable for a GPS or the like. The two-way front zipper has a protective flap with press buttons at the neck and lower hem. Drawcord adjustments at the waist and Velcro closures at the cuffs.

KEB JACKET is designed for summer adventures but when combined with a warm mid-layer it works equally well during the colder seasons. It is perfect together with KEB TROUSERS, which won “Best Outdoor Trousers” in OutDoor Industry Awards and have received a lot of other appraisals. Fjällräven had hardly had the chance to show their first example of KEB JACKET last summer before it was awarded with the SOA Sustainability Award for its positive environmental properties. A panel of Europe’s foremost outdoor journalists awarded the prize.

KEB JACKET will be available in stores in summer 2013.
