The Council announces the 2010 CHaINA Awards Nominees‎

Press Release   •   Nov 10, 2010 01:49 GMT

The Council, which was founded in 2002, is today the professional organization of choice for providing leadership opportunities, professional and personal growth in supply chain management in Asia.

Each year, the CHaINA Awards aim to honour supply chain excellence, by identifying and rewarding outstanding performance among leading manufacturers, retailers and their service providers in Asia.

And while other organizations tend to give away awards to vendors based on their 'level of sponsorship', the CHaINA Awards are totally free from sponsorship and vendors interference.

In order to determine who are the nominees and ultimately the winners in the various categories, the Council uses a three part process: nomination, application review and public voting. Each application is rigorously evaluated by an independent panel of judges comprising of some of China's leading supply chain practitioners. Then, each nomination is placed for public voting.

The 2010 CHaNA Awards nominees, by category, are as follows:

> Supply Chain Operational Excellence in Asia:
Walmart China,  Cadbury India, J. Blackwoods & Son and SKF SLS China

> Best 3PL Supply Chain Provider in Asia:
Damco for Tesco, Toll for Colgate, Menlo for Diebold, Ceva for Schneider Electric, Arvato for Guangxin and FM for Auchan

> Best IT Supply Chain Solution in Asia:
Core Solutions for Kmart, SupplyOn for Bosch, IBM for e-commerce and Cisco for Bailian

> Best Supply Chain Consulting Partner in Asia:
Ressources Global Professionals for Unilever, ISC for GE and Schmidt for Watsons

> The Green Supply Chain Award in Asia:

The results of the online vote will then be referred to the board of advisors of the Council, with weighting to reflect the popular vote. The nominees who come top in each Award category will then get the final prize.

The awards are part of CHaINA'10 Live, Asia's largest supply chain event, taking place on Nov. 17-18 in Shanghai, offering two days of educational and networking opportunities for all professionals involved in supply chain management, procurement and logistics. Over 300 participants are expected at this year event.
