​Once a year, the group leaves the castle in Gävle for a tour of the county. On March 19, the group will visit Vallviks bruk in Söderhamn and the theme for the evening is sustainable enterprising combined with a sustainable economy. “Others tend to put sustainability on like make-up, but for the last twenty years, sustainability has been at the core of University of Gävle,” Per Bill says.

Erik Johan Ljungberg’s foundation invests SEK 9.9 million in the project “The hunt for technicians” at the University of Gävle to boost children’s and young people’s interest in natural sciences and technology. “Our work to increase interest has a long-term perspective in our focus on pre-schools, but also a short-term one, in our focus to increase interest in our own engineering programmes".

University of Gävle and Luleå University of Technology will collaborate on developing courses for lifelong learning in Swedish basic industry. “We believe in close collaboration with the industry and participant-driven learning, and we would also like to try ingredients of gamification in the digital environment,” says Niclas Björsell, senior lecturer in electronics at the University of Gävle.
