Erik Johan Ljungberg’s foundation invests SEK 9.9 million in the project “The hunt for technicians” at the University of Gävle to boost children’s and young people’s interest in natural sciences and technology. “Our work to increase interest has a long-term perspective in our focus on pre-schools, but also a short-term one, in our focus to increase interest in our own engineering programmes".

University of Gävle and Luleå University of Technology will collaborate on developing courses for lifelong learning in Swedish basic industry. “We believe in close collaboration with the industry and participant-driven learning, and we would also like to try ingredients of gamification in the digital environment,” says Niclas Björsell, senior lecturer in electronics at the University of Gävle.

At a ceremony at the University of Gävle on 26 April, Lisa Johansson and Linnéa Löfquist were awarded a prize of 7500 SEk each by Gästrikeregionen Miljö. “Those three years were great fun with many interesting projects where you could be creative and work a lot with your hands,” Linnéa Löfquist says.
