Brother Ireland raise €20,000 at Annual Barretstown Corporate Quiz

6th November 2015. Barretstown,the charity which supports children with serious illness through its therapeutic recreation programmes, held its 9th annual Corporate Quiz in the Convention Centre Dublin this week. The event, sponsored by Brother Ireland, was a great success challenging quiz enthusiasts from Barretstown’s corporate supporters. Tom Dunne, MC and Quizmaster on the night, put 10 tough rounds of questions to the teams on a variety of topics with dedicated bonus questions testing participants knowledge of Barretstown.

The main sponsor of the event was Brother Ireland which has been operating in Ireland since 1958 and is a member of the Brother Global Group. Today, the line of products includes not only sewing machines for home and industrial use, but also machine tools and information and communication equipment from Brother’s Printing & Solutions Business- Printers, All in one Machines, Fax Machines, Label Printers & Scanners together with Brother original supplies and accessories. Other supporters of the event included the Convention Centre Dublin and C&C Gleeson.

Commenting on the event, Director of Development Dee Ahearn said, “A huge thank you to all our supporters on the night who helped us raise over €20,000 for Barretstown. This will allow us bring over 2,500 children to camps next year and bring the magic of Barretstown to an additional 2,500 through our outreach programmes. The evening was full of serious fun giving our patrons and supporters a chance to have an enjoyable night out while supporting and raising vital funds for this great cause.”

Speaking at the event Derek Kelleher, Solutions and Services Manager at Brother Ireland said, “Brother Ireland is honoured to be able to provide our support by sponsoring the 2015 Corporate Quiz. As a former camper myself, I have experienced the Barretstown Magic first-hand so I know exactly what Barretstown means to each camper.”
