As the summer draws to a close, Wire has already been turning its attention to the Christmas and New Year period. Their new 13-day FESTIVE tour has been designed to offer travellers a lavish experience in the countdown to 2011. Combining their selection of handpicked luxury hotels with amazing sights and unusual encounters, the tour also includes some decadent celebrations for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
Khaled Hussain, marketing director for Wire explains the inspiration behind the tour: "We looked at FESTIVE as an opportunity for discerning travellers to escape the traditional Christmas back home - and plan a trip that mixes the heritage and culture of Rajasthan with some very special celebrations here instead. We set a relaxing pace to make this a real holiday, but that it is completely diverse from one day to the next. Cooler temperatures in December mean it's the perfect time to explore."
Wire uses only handpicked hotels that they believe deserve the 'luxury' lable - each has been personally tested to make sure that it is up to the high standards that their clients expect. The co-founders and directors of the company are Europeans based in Rajasthan and work with local guides and suppliers to balance European expectations with the very best that Rajasthan has to offer - including tigers and more rural locations.
The Christmas Eve festivities will be held at one of Udaipur's most renowned hotels, followed later by an equally impressive New Year's Eve in Rajasthan's capital, Jaipur. Although the 20th December departure date is fixed, the tour is a private, guided experience - meaning that each couple will have their own guide and car.
The FESTIVE tour starts in Jaipur and takes in Ranthambore, Bundi (and Kota), Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Ranakpur, Kumbhalgarh, Rohet, Jodhpur and Deogarh before returning to Jaipur for a lavish New Year's eve reception.
Prices start from £2350 per person, excluding international flights, but including all activities, monument entrance fees and meals - as well as luxury accommodation, air-conditioned executive car, guides and meet-and-greet on arrival in Delhi.
