Himachal Awarded as Best Sport of Adventure in India

The Northern Indian State of Himachal Pradesh is being awarded as the best sport of adventure sports in India. The award would be presented on this 18th of August by a Magazine, "Safari India”. The state Chief Secretary, Sh. Sudripta Roy conformed this and also said that the award would be given at New Delhi.

Sh. Roy also said that the state government was stressing infrastructure for tourism and adventure activities including paragliding, river-rafting, trekking, mountaineering etc. 

After that he also presented the government data about tourist how visited that state during the year 2011. According to that report the state welcomed 1.50 crore of visitor including 4.84 lakh overseas tourists.  Adding to this he also disclosed that Government was targeting to diversification of tourism activity to the new areas which were rarely or not explored yet. Government was also focusing of Eco tourism like camping sites, eco huts, trek routes etc. These were also being promoted and encouraged.

At the end it’s also notable that the state of Himachal Pradesh is blased with one of the best paragliding spot in the world, Bir-Billing, which is situated in Kangra district.
