Sloan Appliance Service Family Welcomes Back a Valued Appliance Repair Employee

Columbia, SC (USA), December 03, 2012 -- A valued employee is back on the job after serving on active duty in the South Carolina National Guard. Colonel Tim Brandt recently returned to work at Sloan Appliance Service, where he has been employed for 18 years.

Colonel Tim Brandt, 49, of Prosperity, SC has spent the last 31 ½ years in the South Carolina National Guard and has been away on active duty at Fort Jackson for 9 ½ years. He recently returned home and back on the job at Sloan Appliance Service on September 10th.  He was deployed with the 218th MEB (Mechanized Enhanced Brigade) as a communications officer.

Fred Holbrook, owner of Sloan Appliance Service said he is glad to finally have Brandt back. “I’ve heard from customers while he has was gone, wanting to know when Tim would be back,” said Holbrook. “Good appliance repair technicians are very hard to find…the experience that he gained while in the military has really helped him.”

Holbrook expressed how proud he is of his employee pointing out that Brandt went into the service at age 17 as an enlisted man and later went to school where he completed ROTC and then became an officer.  “He became a full colonel while he was away and just the leadership skills that he has will be very beneficial to him here,” said Holbrook.

Brandt said it is nice to know that his job was waiting for him while he was away. “When you know that you have somewhere to go (after active duty) it takes the stress off of you,” he said. Holbrook agreed and said that there was never any question that Brandt had a job when he got back.
