Coppola Foods promotes true Italian made food products at the PRODEXPO 2013

Coppola Foods (the “Company”), a third generation Italian food family business from Salerno, in the South of Italy, is proud to be part of a selected number of businesses involved in the Italian governmental programme promoting true Italian made food products and directed against false, or Italian sounding products. This programme is developed by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development in collaboration with Federalimentare, the association of Italian food companies, and organised by Promuovi Italia SpA. 

In Moscow, the Company will participate at the PRODEXPO, the leading international event for the food industry in Russia, from 11th to 15th of February 2013, presenting at the institutional stand of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development. The Company will also contribute with its premium Coppola products, including tomatoes, legumes, olive oil and pasta, to the seminars and cooking events which will be held at the stand in collaboration with the chefs from several top local Italian restaurants. 

In addition, Coppola’s products will also be available on the menus of five top Italian restaurants in Moscow which have been selected as partners of this initiative in Russia.

Coppola’s line includes 100% Italian canned tomatoes grown in Southern Italy; traditional Italian legumes, packed in water with no salt added; extra virgin olive oil made from 100% Italian olives collected and milled in Southern Italy; and, 100% durum wheat semolina pasta made according to age-old quality traditions from Campania, shaped using bronze dies and slow-dried at low temperatures in order to keep the pasta proteinic and organoleptic properties unaltered.

It is estimated that two out of three food products sold outside of Italy as Italian are false or Italian sounding, totalling to an annual turnover of c.€60bn. Russia is an important and exciting market that provides significant potential for growth.
