easyJet has announced a new route from Bristol to Åre Östersund, Sweden. Bristol’s skiing and snowboarding passengers can enjoy Swedish snow on the weekly route starting from December 9th. The new route will be easyJet’s third service to Åre Östersund alongside London Gatwick and Copenhagen.

Due to the high risk of wildfires in the area, the County Administrative Board of Jämtland has issued a general fire ban. The decision is valid from July 16th 2018 at 1.00 pm and until further notice. The ban covers all outdoor heating, including specially adapted campfires and barbecue areas as well as the use of portable liquid and gas cookers.

UK visitor numbers to the north of Sweden are expected to soar this winter, following the announcement that low cost airline easyJet is launching seasonal flights between London Gatwick and Åre Östersund on 11 December 2016. Starting from £30.49 each way, the flights will operate weekly on a Sunday.
