THE Selangor Hockey Association (SHA), as part of its development programme, has included a new division for 10 districts in the state. The District Training Programme (DTP) league, catering for the Under-14 age group, will be part of the QNET-TNB Selangor Hockey league (SHE) and classified as Division Five. SHA president S. Ganesh said the DTP was an initiative by the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) and the Education Ministry (MoE). "The MHC, MoE and the Selangor Education Department have given us their blessings for a league for the trainees in the DTP. The SHA considers the DTP league as a platform to unearth new talents as well as to keep the players in a competitive atmosphere," said Ganesh. The 10 districts - Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Klang, Sepang, Petaling Perdana, Petaling Utama and Hulu Langat - will gain entry into the league without any fee.
