Flying High in Desert Skies – MyDefence Performs at Black Dart 2019

Press releases   •   Aug 15, 2019 09:57 CEST

Cary, NC, August 15, 2019 MyDefence North America (MDNA) is extremely excited to announce the award of an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contract by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) in support of multiple emerging unmanned aerial systems (UAS) threat scenarios. As other countries continue to develop and use drones for nefarious attacks, spying, general brutality and warfare, MyDefence has stepped in to counter all these aspects of drones by detecting, identifying, classifying and mitigating them without causing collateral damage to people or equipment.

DIU supported the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and other organizations across the Department of Defense (DOD) in evaluating component technologies during Black Dart 2019. Black Dart is a joint, interagency demonstration focusing on rapid development and implementation of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) technology from readily-available commercial and governmental products. DTRA selected vendors based on their ability to field best-in-class capability. MDNA was selected as one such vendor and demonstrated capabilities during the test event at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in June of 2019. MDNA is very excited about the opportunity this contract award provides, with its ability to service clients across the US government.

About MyDefence Communication ApS

The driving force has been a desire to develop next-gen technology aimed at protecting infantry soldiers against Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)

MyDefence was initially formed in 2009 as a business entity of the Swedish R&D Defence Company Mykonsult AB. In 2010 MyDefence was separated from Mykonsult and moved to Denmark.

MyDefence is an entrepreneurial company based on the experience gained by the entrepreneurs insight in military operations and advanced radio technology. We are military officers with engineering or operational background.

The driving force behind the company has been a strong desire to develop revolutionary new technology aiming at protecting infantry soldiers against Improvised Explosive Devises (IED). During the initial phases of our research we understood that not only can we revolutionize the common approach to counter IEDs but also make a substantial impact on robust wireless communication in mission critical equipment.

At MyDefence we understand the terms Interoperability and mission critical. Around these notions we work our projects and products in order to accommodate the military needs for flexibility and operability.

We challenge ourselves with problems so tough that they at first seem impossible to solve. We think that is the approach to stay genius and leap forward.

The market for robust radio technology is huge and at MyDefence we are determined to make our contribution to overcome your challenges.
