Ari Björkqvist from Haaga-Helia along with John Niser of Purdue University ja Hotel Schools of Distinction presented the project of Haaga-Helia Baltic Hotel Management School under the title ’Developments in Hospitality Education’.
Haaga-Helia was also present in the Network B2B part of the event and the Gala Dinner.
The event was opened by the introduction from Verni Loodmaa, EHRL Chairman of Board, Tarmo Mutso from Enterprise Estonia Estonian Tourism Board wtih the overview of the tourism sector and welcome presentation by Rainer Aavik, Deputy Mayor of Pärnu.
The keynote speech was presente by Prof. Jan van der Borg, University Leuven, Belgium on the tourism trends for the next decade.
The business part of the assembly consisted of the Managing Director Maarika Liivamägi presenting the annual report 2017 along with the budget and the activity plan and budget for 2018.
After that two new board members were elected – Daniel Baranowski of Park Inn Meriton by Radisson and Klaus Ek of Sokos Hotels Tallinn.
The afternoon winding up was kicked off by Martin Breuer from the Estonian Restaurant Association. The next content guest presentations were Ari Björkqvist (Haaga-Helia) and John Niser (Purdue University ja Hotel Schools of Distinction) on Haaga-Helia Baltic Hotel Management School and Rogier Telder from Booking.com on online booking systems unused options for hotels.
At the Gala Dinner the ’Best of 2017’ awards were announced and handed out and all participants could try their luck in a lottery.
