HORIBA will be exhibiting at the Singapore International Water Week 2016 (SIWW 2016), which will be held in Singapore from July 11th to July 13th, 2016. HORIBA will go in with a view to becoming a true partner with customers in measurement – through which the company plans to introduce key products to contribute to water quality process control.
“The decision to exhibit at SIWW is a simple one,” suggests Kenny Tan, Sales Manager of HORIBA’s Process and Environmental Division. “The SIWW has so far been one of the best organized water exhibitions in Asia, and provides a good platform to reach out to customers and industry players globally,” says Kenny Tan.
This will be the third consecutive year that HORIBA has participated in this event. The company looks forward to continuing to use the SIWW to help grow HORIBA’s branding and presence in the water sector globally. Beyond this, and in the South East Asia region in particular, Kenny Tan says, “we aim to be recognized by customers as their preferred partner in water quality measurements in the water sector.”
On how HORIBA would like to serve as a solution partner for its customers in South East Asia:
With our direct presence and established distributor network in this region, we want to reach out and get closely connected with our customers to showcase the measurement technology and reliability of HORIBA products. Additionally, we want to position ourselves as the key solution partner when it comes to water quality measurement.

■About HORIBA’s water business
A global issue today centers on minimizing the impact of human activities on the natural environment, including living organisms, the atmosphere, water, and soil.
Japan has been implementing the most stringent environmental regulations in the world in order to reduce the health effects of pollution and its impact on ecosystems and global environment. HORIBA, as a measurement and analysis manufacturer that represents environmental monitoring, has been a leader in the environmental-measurement technology that is essential to environmental regulations, and has contributed to reduce environmental burdens since it began selling pH meters in 1951 and gas analyzers in 1957.
HORIBA’s technologies in gas and water quality measurement were widely deployed in the industrial measurement field in the 1970s. They have been utilized for monitoring waste water processes and for improving production efficiency in a wide range of industries such as the energy sector and the heavy chemical industry, including electric power and petrochemical.
Regarding water quality measurement, HORIBA’s product range can cover the environmental water monitoring for lakes and rivers – in addition to plant wastewater monitoring. Also, it offers a full lineup of equipment for water quality analysis that is required by all the processes in water infrastructure that includes both purification plants and sewage treatment plants.
In the research and development of food and pharmaceutical domains, HORIBA’s pH/ion meters have been loved as a major brand in the Japanese market.
In Asia, HORIBA opened a representative office in 1985 in Singapore before becoming incorporated as HORIBA Instruments (Singapore) Pte Ltd. in 1996. Today, it has operations in five Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. In 2014, it established an additional site in Singapore as marketing and sales bases of water quality measurement: HORIBA Instruments Singapore Pte Ltd. West Office.
HORIBA is expected to contribute to environmental improvement by providing Southeast Asian countries with Japanese-developed, high-quality technologies and brand power in water quality measurement.
