The icebreakers owned by Arctia Shipping Oy will remain at their current quay in Katajanokka in Helsinki. The Port of Helsinki and Arctia Shipping Oy signed an eight-year lease contract on the Katajanokka berth from 1 April 2012 through 31 March 2020. The contract contains an option for an additional three-year term.
“The contract guarantees the survival of a long Helsinki tradition. For decades, the icebreakers have been part of the city’s harbour scene and popular with visitors. The icebreakers contribute to Helsinki’s maritime image,” states Heikki Nissinen, Managing Director of the Port of Helsinki.
