Nobel economist: Romney's stance on China is "scary"

Joseph Stiglitz, a Columbia University economics professor and Nobel Prize winner, told Reuters that if Mitt Romney as president chooses to brand China a 'currency manipulator' it would lead to a trade war, which the U.S. would lose.

Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, have throughout his campaign repeated his promise of labeling China a ‘currency manipulator’ on his first day in the oval office.

Mitt Romney’s opponents have along with independent economists warned that such a move would risk a trade war with China that would be very damaging to both the US and to the world.
