Obama-Xi summit resort uses panels from pro-China solar firm

A San Diego-based solar vendor with a cheap Chinese supply chain set up a solar farm at the US government’s California resort, where talks on tariffs on imported Chinese solar cells are set to commence.

When US President Barack Obama bids China’s new President Xi Jinping welcome at The Annenberg Estate – also known as Sunnylands – one of the topics on the agenda is an ongoing trade dispute over Chinese solar panels, which the US Department of Commerce hasdecided to impose antidumping duties on.

However, it could seem that the choice of The Annenberg Estate, which prides itself of being at the forefront of modern environmental stewardship, could become a bad PR move for the US administration.
