Passenger bridges decorated with fish by the pupils of the Suomenlinna Comprehensive School

Inspired by the Gulf of Finland Year 2014, the Port of Helsinki invited the pupils of Suomenlinna Comprehensive School, Lower Stage, to draw and paint fish on the passenger bridges of the Olympic Terminal and the Katajanokka Terminal. The fish represent the cheerful inhabitants of the Gulf of Finland and remind us to take care of our environment. Hopefully, the passengers who pass through the terminals on their way to their ships will be reminded that travelling by ship is an environmentally friendly way to travel and that both ports and shipping companies have worked hard to make it so.

“The fish may remain on the bridges all summer long, if they can stand the weather”, says the Port of Helsinki’s Communications Manager Eeva Hietanen.
