Sweden's largest sport event organizer "En Svensk Klassiker" signs a three-year agreement with Professor Ljungqvist and his new movement "Pure For Sure". Pure For Sure is designed to educate and raise awareness about the use of doping substances amongst youth and non-elite exercisers in the society. The partners will develop inspiring and proactive educational programs for pure health and clean recreational sports.
En Svensk Klassiker collects more than 180.000 participants yearly on their recreational sports events in Sweden: Vasaloppet (cross country skiing, 90 km) or Engelbrektsloppet (cross country skiing, 60 km), Vätternrundan (cycling, 300 km), Vansbrosimmet (river swimming, 3 km), Lidingöloppet (running, 30 km).
Professor Arne Ljungqvist, Chairman of Arne Ljungqvist Anti-Doping Foundation:
– We are proud to confirm the collaboration with En Svensk Klassiker, which is a great opportunity for us to reach out with our message to large groups of recreational exercisers. Unfortunately, the use of doping substances outside the world of elite sport is increasing rapidly, especially within young age groups. The doping substances can easily be purchased via the internet and there are also international studies showing that supplement products can be contaminated with doping substances without it being noted on the labels. Pure For Sure focus on pro-active educational programs and to raise awareness in order for all to make wiser decisions about what they swallow.
Michael Thoren, President of En Svensk Klassiker
– Increased awareness about what you as an athlete and person eats and drinks is crucial. Many recreational exercisers ask themselves what is best to eat and drink in order to optimize their own development, in training and sports as well as for their performance at work. We hope to highlight this important issue together with Pure For Sure and thereby get more people to choose a safe and healthy way for their individual development.

Pure For Sure
Pure For Sure is a movement and educational programs produced by the Foundation Arne Ljungqvist Anti-Doping Foundation. The Foundation operates since 2011 several projects aimed at raising awareness of drugs in society and sport. The Foundation develops educational programs, film and literature directed against adult athletes, students and athletes. The Foundation sees a great need for prevention efforts on young people and athletes outside the world of sport. There is virtually no party or organization today that successfully developed a prevention of steroid abuse as a growing social and public health problem.
En Svensk Klassiker
En Svensk Klassiker is a recreational sporting event beyond the ordinary, where you within a 12 month period, should attend Vasaloppet (cross country skiing, 90 km) or Engelbrektsloppet (cross country skiing, 60 km), Vätternrundan (cycling, 300 km), Vansbrosimmet (river swimming, 3 km) and Lidingöloppet (running, 30 km).
Our mission is to make Sweden and Swedes healthier, and the basic idea is to motivate people of all ages to exercise year-round through En Svensk Klassiker or via any of or connected events such as the ICA Klassikern (ICA Grocery Store Classic), Arbets Klassikern (Workplace Classic) or Skolklassikern (School Classic).
