Diabetes app study seminar with Professor Kerstin Brismar

Stockholm – Findings from the first six months of a clinical study which uses medtech firm Diabetes Tools’ Triabetes® smartphone app at diabetes clinics in Poland are being revealed by Professor Kerstin Brismar, from Stockholm’s Karolinska Institutet, on 10 October 2014.

Speaking at a seminar for delegates attending the October meeting of the Swedish Society for Diabetology, Professor Brismar will share interim results from a controlled study of 226 patients with Type 2 diabetes which is comparing the health outcomes, such as blood sugar control, of patients who use the Triabetes app with those who do not.

This two-year study is backed by academics from the Medical University of Warsaw and Karolinska Institutet. It is being conducted at multiple primary care clinics run by the managed care group Medicover in Poland. Indeed, the Medical Director of Medicover Dr. Piotr Soszynski is also speaking at the seminar. He will present how Triabetes, with its remote patient monitoring system, is used in day-to-day clinical practice.

The seminar is a satellite event to the Swedish Society for Diabetology’s autumn meeting in Stockholm (9-10 October 2014) and is hosted by Diabetes Tools and healthcare diagnostic company A. Menarini Diagnostics.
