Yesterday Arctic Frontiers hosted an event in Singapore in collaboration with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Singapore, the National University of Singapore and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singapore. The title for the event was The future of the Arctic: Geopolitical, environmental and business perspectives.

We are very happy that Dr. Dmitry Shparo will speak at the Opening Ceremony of Arctic Frontiers 2017. Mr. Shparo holds a Ph.D. in mathematics and is the Director of the Adventure Club. Dmitry Shparo is known as the leader of the first in history Ski Expedition from the Continent to the North Pole (1979).

We are happy to announce that Liv Monica Stubholt, partner in the law firm Selmer, is the moderator of Arctic Frontiers Policy 2016. Stubholt has been involved in Arctic issues and been an active player in the Norwegian energy and aquaculture sectors for more than a decade, both as a business lawyer, as an industry executive and as a politician.

Today is the official opening of the Arctic Economic Council Secretariat in Tromsø, Norway. The Arctic Economic Council is an independent organisation that facilitates Arctic business-to-business activities and responsible economic development. It is the primary forum for interaction between the Arctic Council and the wider circumpolar business community.

We are very pleased to announce that Karen Ellemann, Minister for Equal Opportunities and Nordic Cooperation, Denmark will speak at Arctic Frontiers Policy 2017. Ms Ellemann was appointed Minister for Equal Opportunities and Minister for Nordic Cooperation in November 2016.
